Kim Zeidler-Watters

Kim Zeidler-Watters, director of the P-12 Math and Science Outreach Unit of the Partnership Institute for Mathematics and Science Education Reform (PIMSER) at the University of Kentucky, works in partnership with numerous agencies and through grant funded initiatives to provide high-quality learning experiences for administrators and teacher leaders focused on curriculum, instruction, assessment, and leadership. She was the director of the Appalachian Rural Systemic Initiative Resource Collaborative for 10 years until it, along with the Appalachian Mathematics and Science Partnership (AMSP) – both funded by grants from the National Science Foundation – was restructured under PIMSER, which was created at the University of Kentucky in 2006.

Through the P-12 Math and Science Outreach Unit, Kim focuses on offering programs that build leadership capacity, provide tools and strategies for deeper understanding of content, and model learning communities for educators at all levels to support improvement efforts. Most recently, Kim has partnered with the Kentucky Department of Education to facilitate the Instructional Leadership Support Network (ISLN). ISLN is part of the statewide system of networks designed to develop local leadership capacity for implementation of Common Core Standards and assessment literacy practices across all Kentucky classrooms.
